ABOUT US

The Department of Shalya Tantra at the Faculty of Ayurveda, Banaras Hindu University, established in 1963, is a pioneer in Ayurvedic surgical education, research, and clinical services. Known globally for reviving and advancing Ksharasutra therapy for fistula-in-ano, the department has also developed innovative techniques like IFTAK for complex cases.

It houses the National Resource Center on Ksharasutra Therapy, catering to over 30,000 patients annually with modern diagnostic tools like 3D-TRUS and Anorectal Manometry. The department integrates traditional Ayurvedic approaches with modern surgical methods to manage anorectal and other surgical diseases effectively.

Welcome to AYUPROCT 2025

AYUPROCT 2025 is an in-depth exploration of the latest advancements regarding the diagnostic techniques and treatment strategies for benign anorectal conditions at AYUPROCT 2025, the “National Conference on Benign Anorectal Diseases” organized by Department of Shalya Tantra, Faculty of Ayurveda, Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University on October 9-11, 2025 at the holy city of Varanasi, the spiritual capital of India.

At AYUPROCT 2025, we aim to equip clinicians with the latest strategies, refine their skills, and ultimately improve patient outcomes. The conference will offer a unique platform for the learners as the experts of both the Ayurveda and Modern fraternity shall come together to bridge the knowledge gaps through live operative sessions and engaging lectures and share insights on overcoming clinical dilemmas, managing complex cases, and implementing best practices.
